new Christmas quilt started

Hi all,

I am also working on a Christmas quilt, went ahead and cut out and sewed the applique to blocks as I was working on the Halloween quilt, just figured do all the cutting and sewing at the same time and perhaps save some time. ๐Ÿ˜

So here below are the pics of the Christmas quilt blocks.

Here we have 6 blocks set side by side for picture taking only. We have lots of snowmen on this quilt, snowman sitting on the moon, snowman with a tree, snowman sitting on presents, snowman sitting looking at a star, snowman with a plant of stars (2 blocks).

Here we have a house with a tree block, birds with stars, an angel, sleigh, reindeer, tree, and a snowflake.  I may add more of my own blocks as I go along with this quilt.

So more to come as I start work on them.

Have to say that when it is nice out this spring and early summer, I will be outside more than inside working on a quilt.

new Halloween quilt started

Hi to ya all,

I am making two new quilts this year or summer, I have some pics to show you, they are only blocks and not yet finished, just a pic to show what they are. One is for Halloween and the other one is for Christmas. Both are applique quilts. These two are for family members.

Now, this has 6 blocks stuck together so you can just see what I am up to. More will come later on when I start to work on each block.  The block "eeeek", a block of the moon with cat, a block of the mummy, a block of the buzzard, a block of the devil, a block of candelabra.

Now we add 6 blocks of the witch, a block of the pumpkin, a block of the owl, a block of the skull, a block of Dragula, a block of a crow sitting on a pumpkin, a block of the ghost.

Now we have the last 2 for now which are Frankenstein and the haunted house.  These two blocks are huge compared to the others.   I will also be adding many smaller items in the way of blocks as I put this together.

Although this pattern was store-bought, I never put things together as they say to do it, I do my own thing when making a quilt. So you have to wait and see what it will look like once finished.

More fun to come so stay tuned. ok

cool spring and start to summer

Hi everyone,

Just a short note to say hi to all and update you. I am working outside when the weather is nice and back to quilting when it is not so nice. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐ŸŒธ

We have had days or a day here and there in the 70's and even one days in the 80's so far, but nothing stays, seems to go back down to the low low temps 40's and '50s and then stays there for a while, with lots of rain also and cold winds.  Just when you think it is nice when it is not.

So when nice days hit, I am outside playing and working, and when it is not so nice I am inside working on my two quilts that are in the works.

I have a Christmas quilt and a Halloween quilt in the works for the family, Hope to have them both ready for this Christmas time.  I will be taking pics today since it is one of those 50's days, so when I get them all ready will be posting them to the blog sometime today if all goes to plan.

These quilts are applique, I have them stitched to the blocks, just no embellishments as of yet and they are not set together yet.

So what is everyone else up to?

I am leaving the blog open for now, inviting more to come and read if they want. my time is going to be somewhat here at home and many trips to see my sis again this summer.

I hope to have a few new items to show you. I have completed the "welcome" sign and painted it for the 4th of July.  Next,  I have some lettering to cut out for cutting for Halloween and will paint it when ready. Plan to take some pics once I get it put together and will share on the blog. ok

Evening to all

Hello members,

Well, been gone doing this and that. Getting things ready to start some new things.

Hope all are doing ok and keeping warm. Crazy winter this year, really cold back to
in the '40s and '50s at times, rain and then snow and freezing, ya never know what
is coming next this winter.

As most of you know my sis and brother-in-law are having a battle with cancer and
that is taking a toll on each of us in different ways. So I am not really active right now.
Nita is hanging in there with chemo and surg to come later on, and Larry is taking a
pill a day and a shot every 6 months to fight his cancer. We are all praying that they can
fight the battle and come out the other side in good shape.

I do plan to put up some pics of the new items I have painted in wood. I just love it and plan to make one for Halloween. The one just done is for the 4th of July. Pics coming.

Still plan to work some more on the dog quilts for the no-kill shelter.

That is about it for now.

Good Afternoon

What ya all up to?

I am sitting in my sewing room watching it try to snow again, it is cold and windy right now. Yesterday was almost 60 temp outside. Crazy winter this year.

Sad info:
Both Nita and Larry are fighting cancer right now and my interest, for
now, is with my family. I know you can understand that!
I also just found out I have 2 cousins that are also fighting cancer and not expected to live much longer than a few weeks to months.

More later
Margo
